Please note, that the purposes of this website is to garner support for the one-hour crime drama television series. Because we already work with interactive companies involved in gaming, we took the time to develop a base foundation for a video game based on this show. We have a vision towards the changing future of the entertainment business, and we truly believe that the future of entertainment rests in the hands of the producers who can merge television with the internet and console video-gaming. So it is our distinct privilege to present you with our overall grand vision for this television series. But please understand that our primary focus is on the show, because without the show there is no game.

GAME OVERVIEW

What kind of game is Criminal Virtue?

Criminal Virtue is to be the first console MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) action adventure game, directly linked to an on-air television series, merging television with both console video gaming, and the internet. Players can choose between single-player storyline mode, or they can take their game online and create their own characters to build their criminal empire. Choose between single player online adventure missions to build your rep and status, or join in on cooperative missions with other characters online, and build or join a crew. The more you play, the more you earn, and the closer become to joining a family or organization. But be careful, LA is a big city, so you never know whose toes you might be stepping on.

Why Criminal Virtue?

In addition to the single-player adventure, this is an MMO like World of Warcraft. Currently, World of Warcraft has over ten million members online, each paying $15.00 per month for the privilege of playing with other people online. That’s roughly $150,000,000 per month in revenues from the membership fees alone. Well here's the cool part, not everybody wants to be an elf, a wizard, or a dragon-slayer. Millions of people would much rather be a diamond thief, a bank robber, a drug dealer, a pimp, or a crime boss instead. Crime genre games such as Grand Theft Auto,The Godfather, and Scarface are equally as popular as the World of Warcraft. This is something that has never been done before, as the A.I. on the game servers will be reactive to the happenings on the show. But unlike games like Grand Theft Auto and The Getaway, Criminal Virtue will be somewhat more grounded in reality, and more challenging than previous crime-story game models. The shooting mode will be similar to that of Max Payne, and the fighting mode would be something akin to Tekken or Mortal Combat.

What is the object of the game?

The object of Criminal Virtue is to build your fortune, reputation, and respect level on the streets, while eliminating your enemies along the way, and all without getting caught. But remember, Los Angeles is a big city, and there are a lot of criminal syndicates on the streets, and it’s a long way to the top. But those who make it will be rewarded.

What modes of game-play does Criminal Virtue possess?

Whether you’re in single-player mode, or playing the MMO, you could find yourself playing in third person shooter mode similar to the game-play in Scarface or Max Payne, then very soon find yourself in third person fighter mode, where you would learn and memorize various button combinations to learn new fighting moves like the game-play in Tekken or Mortal Combat. Since this show/game takes place in the city of Los Angeles, naturally a lot of driving takes place. But unlike games such as Grand Theft Auto, or The Getaway, you can’t just hop into a car and drive off with it. The player actually needs to break into the vehicle, and hotwire the car by manipulating the analog sticks of their joystick, or by equipping a screwdriver to jam into the ignition. Learn to pickpocket, or take part in a number of drive-by or walk up and approach assassination missions. Learn the tricks of the trades that fuel the underground economy, where there’s a million ways to turn a buck if you posses the virtues of criminality. You can hijack a semi, but do you know how to drive one? Steal a car, but do you have somebody to offload it to? Criminal Virtue is different from other games in that it is based in reality. Nobody carjacks or steals a car just to ride around. There are consequences. But as you build your crew and grow your reputation, you’ll meet plenty of shady characters that are up to no good, and will teach the virtues of criminality, thus providing you with new streams of income.

So how does all this start out?

You start off with a jalopy of a car, and you live in a dump, which is where you’ll go to save your game, or regenerate health. However, Criminal Virtue is filled with numerous mini-games, so you can grow your fortune, buy a nicer car, or move to a better neighborhood. You can actually get a number of legitimate day-jobs through some of your street contacts, which often lead to illegitimate jobs that can be extremely lucrative… and extremely dangerous. But don’t worry; there are martial arts clubs that teach all sorts of fighting styles, and gun shops with state of the art shooting ranges all over Los Angeles. Brush up on your fighting and shooting skills every so often, you’re going to need it. Along the way, during your single player adventure, you’ll meet other characters with different fighting styles, and you’ll have to fight them to earn their respect. In turn, they will teach you some of their style, thus unlocking new fighting moves.

Excuse me, what do you mean day jobs??

Many opportunities will come along, big ones and small ones. How long it takes before you can quit your day job is up to you. But your apartment isn’t free, and you’ve got bills to pay, so not every dime you make is entirely yours. But once you have, you will find yourself privy to more and more insider information that can make you some real money, so much that you’ll need to learn to hide it. The art to this game, aside from excellent shooting and fighting skills, will be street savvy. As you grow your empire, you will need to learn additional skills to keep the authorities from catching on. A lengthy court trial and stay at the twin towers downtown facility of the L.A. County Jail will most definitely deplete your funds, bringing you all the way down to the bottom. But it could also provide you with an opportunity that you wouldn’t have had otherwise.

Punk Status:

Punk status is the lowest of the low. You’ve definitely got a day-job, and are stuck peddling dime bags, twenties, and eighths of weed. No diversification, no other substances, no jobs pulled, and no ride-alongs. Everyone starts out here, and in addition to having to work your day job for a full 8-hour shifts (15 minutes of gameplay), but after work, you’ve got deliveries to make. How you handle yourself at work can get you more weed clients, and you may even get lucky enough to get a customer with a lot of friends. Work quickly to get out of punk status by diversifying into other substances, and learning to fight. Go as a ride-along on a few jobs, and you’ll see what we mean. Also, going along on jobs and proving your worth to somebody higher than you, can earn you new connections, offering either better deals on substances you already purvey, or new substances for you to peddle, such as ecstasy, coke, speed, or others. But makes sure you know what you’re getting into, different substances offer different clientele.

Driving mode:

What makes Criminal Virtue different from other video game models is that it is somewhat more based in reality than previous models. You need car insurance, and your tank isn’t limitless. Being that you will be doing a lot of driving around, you will need to be aware of your fuel supply. Also, you won’t be able to drive around Los Angeles at breakneck speeds, because this causes a lot of attention from the police, and anyone who’s seen a CHP freeway chase on the evening news knows this, and it would definitely land you an extended stay at the twin-towers facility of the L.A. County Jail, and ruin your business. You have clients, you need to attend to them or someone else will.

Stealing cars:

The ability to steal a car quickly is a Criminal Virtue in itself, but nobody does it by just hopping into a car and driving off. You will need to learn how to swiftly break into a car, disable the alarm if it has one, and quickly start it by various means, depending on the make and model. Stealing cars is only recommended for doing a job such as a hit, a robbery, a con, a heist, or for a quick sale to make some fast cash. Carjacking is not recommended unless you need to make a fast escape in a dangerous situation.

Fighting Mode:

Want to make some extra money? There's always money to be made in bare-knuckle underground brawling. You can gamble and bet on other fighters, or you can fight for prize money. The M.M.O. provides lots of opportunities to compete with other players from all over, and even make money for your character's bank account. You will run into numerous encounters on the streets, with both friends and foes. Along the way, you will be able to learn new fighting styles and unlock fight move combinations. You will meet new instructors, and become a better all around fighter. You can unlock various dojos all over Los Angeles, each with a different fighting style. This can also unlock additional missions to build your reputation on the streets, along with your accounts in the bank. Building your reputation on the street can unlock numerous moneymaking opportunities. Remeber, if anyone steps to you on the streets, the streets always watching. You will also discover that while some people like to fight, others like to shoot.

Missions:

The more missions you take on, the more you increase your fortune and build connections that can lead you to riches. As you complete missions, you unlock different neighborhoods, different contacts, different schemes and scams, and different ways to make money. Completing missions earns you respect on the streets, and upgrades your status, thus unlocking more extras such as apartment upgrades, cars and purchasable real estate to live in and pimp out, or to rent out for additional cash flow.

Opportunities & Extras:

Unlock an entire city’s worth of apartment upgrades, purchasable real estate such as houses to live in, or even apartments and office buildings to rent out, or use as fronts. There are also numerous auto dealers all over L.A. that sell everything from Toyotas to Ferraris, anything for the auto aficionado.
