he have a lot of friends? Yuri is an outgoing guy, who makes friends
fairly easily, but he acts like a total ass if he has too much to drink
sometimes, and gets into fistfights. |

Single? Exes? Yuri Pedrossov has a wife named Irina, but his marriage
has been on the rocks for some time. She came to the U.S. with him, but
his newfound wealth from professional hockey brought out the philanderer
in him. Plus, after they had children, he started seeing her as the mother
of his children, and soon his constant drinking and philandering became
not so discrete. So Irina began seeing another man over a year ago, and
has been just going through the motions with Yuri, growing bitter. |
| What
he does and why? Yuri Pedrossov is a professional hockey player
for the L.A. Kings, but he’s been on the bench because of an advanced
tendonitis and ankle problems, and has been drinking and doing coke pretty
solid ever since, which also contributed to the demise of his career. But
when he’s not on the ice, Yuri Pedrossov has been known to spend time
with known undesirables, such as his blood uncle Sergei Kazakov. Sergei
holds considerable influence over Yuri, and is not shy about pressuring
him to do things he doesn’t want. Numerous Russian hockey players
are often known to be mobbed up, but in Yuri’s case, it was a family
affair. Sergei would send Yuri out to collect money from people who owed
him, as Sergei was known for surrounding himself with Russian athletes,
as well as ex-soldiers. On one occasion, Sergei sent Yuri to talk to a guy
he wanted to take his business from, and sent Alexander Khoderovsky along
with him. Khoderovsky ended up killing the guy, and from then on Sergei
would use that incident to put the screws to him every once in a while.
Sergei takes credit for Yuri’s recruitment to play professional hockey
in the states, which he did have a hand in it. But he uses it as an excuse
to wet his beak for a piece of Yuri’s salary. |
| What
are his goals? Though Yuri was hoping to last another year in the
NHL, he didn’t, so now his primary concern is to maintain his wealth,
despite his spending habits. Russians like to live big, and Yuri is no exception. |
